Getting Started

Build your first AI agent in 15 minutes.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you'll need:

  • An Adaptive account (request access at adaptiveap.com)

  • A use case in mind (customer support, sales, onboarding, etc.)

Step 1: Create Your First Agent

  1. Navigate to Agent Management > Create Agents

  2. Click Create Agent

  3. Give your agent a name and description

Step 2: Define the Problem Space

The problem space defines what domain your agent operates in.

  1. Go to Agent Config > Problem Spaces

  2. Click Create with AI to use our AI-assisted authoring

  3. Addy will guide you through:

    • Naming your problem space

    • Writing a summary

    • Identifying primary users

    • Defining what's in scope vs out of scope

Step 3: Configure the Persona

The persona defines how your agent communicates.

  1. Go to Agent Config > Personas

  2. Configure:

    • Voice & Tone: Professional, casual, empathetic, etc.

    • Personality Traits: Helpful, patient, knowledgeable

    • Communication Style: Concise, detailed, conversational

Step 4: Add Knowledge

Connect your agent to your data.

  1. Go to Agent Config > Knowledge

  2. Add knowledge sources:

    • Upload documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT)

    • Connect URLs for web content

    • Add FAQ entries directly

Step 5: Train Your Agent

Use synthetic conversations to prepare your agent.

  1. Go to Agent Management > Train Agents

  2. Generate synthetic training conversations

  3. Review and annotate conversations

  4. Optionally fine-tune the underlying model

Step 6: Deploy

Launch your agent across channels.

  1. Go to Deployment > Channels

  2. Choose your channel:

    • Website Chat: Get an embeddable widget

    • Voice Phone: Configure a phone number

    • API: Get endpoint credentials
